Alternative Energy

There are many types of renewable energy sources we already know about. According to www.nkba.org/green/glossary.aspx  the definition of renewable energy is: "Energy resources, such as wind, solar, hydroelectric, biomass, geothermal, ocean thermal, and wave power, that replenish themselves within a short period. Although non-pollutive, some displace habitats and require large tracts of land." Did you know that "in Kenya... it is estimated that roughly 30,000 small solar power units with a capacity of 20 to 100 watts are sold every year.  This is the largest solar ownership rate in the world for residential communities" (renewablesolarenergy.com).
Renewable Energy Sources, How Renewable Energy Works
Now, here's something you haven't heard of: solar panneled roads. Imagine if all the roads in the U.S. were photovoltaic panels. Imagine how much power that would generate. According to Popular Science, "a mile-long stretch of four-lane highway could take 500 homes off the grid". The company offering these roads is called Solar Roadways. Each road costs about 7,000 dollars. This idea could remove America's dependance on fossil fuels. Think about it!
